Children's rights come first
Children's feelings, choices and pace are respected, with the child's best interests at the center of decisions.
Yuria Method Certified Preschools see children as people with rights and their own capacity to develop. Teachers observe each child carefully, shape the environment around development, and work together as a team.
This page explains, in practical terms, what certification means and what families can look for when choosing a preschool.
Choosing a preschool is about more than facilities or events. What matters every day is how children are seen, listened to and supported. Yuria Method certification focuses on children's rights, development, environment and teamwork in everyday HOIKU practice.
Children's feelings, choices and pace are respected, with the child's best interests at the center of decisions.
Rather than judging children simply by what they can or cannot do, teachers look at where each child is in development and shape daily life, play and learning around that.
Care does not depend on one teacher alone. Staff share observations and work together to support each child consistently.
Preschools complete implementation and practice, then undergo a final review before certification.

After certification, the Association presents the preschool with this plaque. Displayed on site, it makes the preschool's commitment to Yuria Method practice visible to families.
We are working toward a future in which families naturally ask, “Does this preschool display the Yuria Method Certified Preschool plaque?”
Our aim is for the plaque to become one helpful sign of trust when families choose a preschool.
A plaque is useful, but seeing everyday practice matters too. Here are four things families can notice during a visit.
Are their intentions, preferences and pace respected in play and daily routines?
Do teachers avoid stepping in too quickly when a child can explore or attempt something independently?
Are furniture, materials, movement and routines designed around children's development rather than adult convenience alone?
Can you see teachers communicating and supporting children as a team?
Our Certified Preschools page introduces preschools that have completed the Yuria Method certification process. Explore the list, visit each preschool's website, and see the setting in person.
Certification does not guarantee a particular outcome for every child or family. We encourage families to consider each preschool's philosophy and actual practice when making a decision.
